I'm Martin Littmann, and AskMartin is where I share observations, experiences, and perspectives accumulated over a career in technology, information security, and organizational leadership.

For more than two decades, I've served in senior technology and information security leadership roles in healthcare. Much of my professional life has involved navigating the intersection of technology, people, business priorities, and the decisions that connect them.

Those experiences have taught me that the most important questions aren't always technical. They're often about leadership, communication, judgment, and understanding what we're actually trying to accomplish.

Why AskMartin?

I've always enjoyed exploring ideas, asking questions, and challenging assumptions. AskMartin gives me a place to put some of those thoughts into writing.

Some articles focus on technology, cybersecurity, and leadership. Others reflect on experiences, current issues, or the occasional subject that simply catches my attention. I don't intend to limit this site to a single category.

Beyond the articles

As I look toward the next chapter of my professional life, I'm interested in sharing what I've learned through consulting, advisory work, and leadership development.

One area I'm particularly interested in is executive communication coaching. Early in my career, I had the opportunity to work with a communications coach who recorded my presentations, helped me recognize distracting habits, and taught me something surprisingly simple: the value of pausing to think before speaking.

That experience changed how I communicate. Over the years, it helped me become comfortable presenting to groups, responding to unexpected questions, and speaking without extensive preparation. It's a skill I've continued to value throughout my career.

I'd like to bring that same practical, individualized approach to other leaders and organizations, helping people communicate with greater clarity and confidence.

AskMartin will remain a place for my writing and personal perspectives, but it may also become a way to share some of those lessons more directly.

A few guiding perspectives

  1. 01

    Experience matters

Decades of working with technology, information security, and organizations have shaped how I think about problems, decisions, and leadership.

  2. 02

    Question assumptions

I'm interested in understanding why we do things the way we do, whether the conventional answer still makes sense, and what we might do differently.

  3. 03

    Keep learning

Technology changes, organizations evolve, and life has a way of offering new perspectives. There's always something worth exploring.
